My favorite part of working at The NEEDS Center is the people we support—they make every day rewarding. Over the past 10 years, I’ve grown professionally from a Direct Support Professional to a Program Coordinator, thanks to the incredible support from my team and manager.

What makes The NEEDS Center special is the teamwork and support system. Even in the fast-paced day program environment, we balance challenges with positivity and end each day on a good note. It’s more than just a job—it’s about creating a supportive, welcoming space for everyone.

Jerome Louis, Program Coordinator

The individuals we serve are the reason I love working at The NEEDS Center. Seeing them achieve their goals, grow, and find joy in what they love is incredibly fulfilling. They deserve everything life has to offer, and I’m proud to work for an organization that prioritizes their rights and well-being. The NEEDS Center also supports its staff with training, ongoing education opportunities, and a strong team environment where managers are understanding and accommodating.

The work-life balance is nice, especially in the day program, where you can make a difference during the day and leave with a sense of fulfillment. The company shows appreciation through initiatives like DSP Week and bonuses, and managers are proactive about preventing burnout. If you come in with the mindset of making a positive difference, you’ll find this work incredibly rewarding, and The NEEDS Center is a great place to make that impact.

Working at The NEEDS Center is fun and engaging—I love being active and spending time with the people we support, whether it’s playing basketball at the YMCA or helping them achieve their goals. Though I was apprehensive when I started, the training prepared me well, and I’ve learned so much along the way.

I feel lucky to work with such a supportive team where everyone helps out and no one is above anyone else. The NEEDS Center’s mission and commitment to advocating for disability services inspire me to make a difference. The work is fun but challenging, and while it took time to find balance, I now enjoy a great work-life balance and the understanding and respect of my colleagues.
